hello there ๐Ÿ‘‹

I'm Chris Krogh and I like building cool things. I currently work at Faire where I help build the future of wholesale.

Outside of Faire, I shipped Vings, a personal finance app for banking, crypto, and AI-native insights.

I focus on frontend product engineering with React, Next.js, Expo, and TypeScript โ€” especially performance, developer experience, and shipping polished experiences that feel fast and trustworthy.

Here's a look at what I've been up to recently. These projects reflect the kinds of frontend architecture, performance, and product problems I like to solve: making complex experiences feel simple, measurable, and fast for real users on the web today.

Faire

Staff Software Engineer

  • Frontend lead for a retailer shopping assistant, partnering with product and design on what to build and when
  • Drove frontend modernization through hooks, Turbopack, codebase decomposition, and faster CI
  • Led marketplace speed work across the site using Server Components, prefetching, and other resource optimizations

Vings

Project ยท Shipped June 2025

  • Built a personal finance app for banking, crypto, budgets, and goals
  • Shipped web, native, and backend experiences with React, Next.js, Expo, and TypeScript
  • Added AI-native insights through Today Feed and Copilot experiences

I also think about things from time to time, and try to write them down whenever I get a chance. Posts focus on practical frontend engineering: server components, data fetching, performance work, and lessons from shipping product at scale.

I write about React, Next.js, frontend performance, and engineering career growth. My recent work spans conversational shopping experiences, marketplace speed, developer tooling, and full-stack product builds with Expo and TypeScript.
